Complications

Any surgical operation may involve complications. Aesthetical plastic surgery is the only branch of medicine where healthy people are operated on, not sick. This means that we, surgeons, have to take enormous responsibility and pressure.

The patient is motivated by a desire formed in his or her mind to undergo corrective surgery.

It cannot be emphasised strongly enough that aesthetic surgery can be deferred at any time, for any reason! Only patients in absolutely perfect health can undergo an operation!

The rules of medical treatment must be scrupulously observed, there must be sufficient grounds for an operation, the patient must be properly informed and cooperative, and the operation must be preceded by a thorough examination. A tissue-protecting delicate operative technology must be in place and the postoperative period must be followed with attention. These conditions are all necessary to minimize the possibility of complications, and they guarantee patients’ satisfaction after a safe recovery.
